What's Daphne All About?

Daphne Brogdon is host of TV Guide Channel’s weekly series, THE FASHION TEAM where she lends her comedic talents to “dish” about what’s hot and what’s not in fashion and on the red carpet. There are some helpful tips, but it's also fun to critic famous people.She can also be seen as a  regular contributor to CNN Headline's "Showbiz Tonight" and to Star Magazine's "Worst  of the Week".

Brogdon has appeared on numerous television series, showcasing her range of talent which includes improv, pithy celebrity interviews and dating advice from a woman’s perspective. She has appeared on “The X-Show,” where for a time, she was the only female late-night host on television. She was a co host on the Vh-1 music panel show "Never Mind the Buzzcocks"  which didn't' last long, but it was a chance to live in New York and  make jokes with lot's of celebrities.  She has also hosted the controversial dating reality show, “Playing it Straight” on FOX, was the resident comedic expert on “The Ricki Lake Show” and has lent her wit to numerous comedic montage shows on VH-1 and Country Music Television. Brogdon also hosted for FOX’s web show “24 Inside,” as well as “Perfect Partner” on Discovery. Her first national show was "Cnet Central" on the USA and Sci Fi channels.  A magazine show about the world of technology.   That led to also co hosting "Cool Tech" for Cnet, a fun romp through all things technology including extreme sports. Brogdon then developed her own segment " Digital Dish" for Cnet's "The Web", where she skewered some of the goofy sites and personalities on the net.

Her quick witted improvisational skills are what drew her to her first professional love—radio. Most notably, Brogdon was the producer and side-kick of the nationally syndicated “The Dr Dean Edell Show.” As well as Dr. Dean's co-host on his TV show "Hey Dr. Dean!" which was seen in California.  She also loves performing improv and co-founded the group, Scratch Theatre. Brogdon is a stand up comic. She has performed at the Riviera Comedy Club in Las Vegas, the Improv in Hollywood and Irvine and the Comedy Store as well as countless laundromats, dive bars and  rooms she wasn't sure what they were, but there was a mic. She also wrote and performed in two solo shows, “Radio Play” and “I have to be famous by 5pm." She attended American Conservatory Theater (ACT) in San Francisco and performed with Bay Area Theater Sports. She graduated from UCSC  where she first got behind a radio mic at the campus station.

Brogdon is from Culver City, CA where her father John Carl's  foray into local politics ( Mayor pro tem of Culver City) gave her an interest in politics early on and is often a source for commentary and humor in her act.  Another part of her act now is her family. Daphne is married to Mark Peel, Executive Chef and owner of Campanile restaurant and co- founder of La Brea Bakery.  They have a toddler, Vivien and Mark has three children of his own.  They reside in Los Angeles.
